Originally numbered 574 Elgin, this house was built some time between 1901 and 1908, and was first occupied by John Hope, son of James Hope of James Hope & Sons, printers and stationers on Sparks Street. I'm sure that dormer window isn't the original — a bit of a honker, I'd say.
