101 Holmwood Avenue, the Glebe, Ottawa


Built some time between 1909 and 1912, first home to Alexander Thurston, an accountant with Fotheringham & Popham, printers and stationers on Sparks Street and later Queen. 

Holmwood Avenue was originally called Centre Street — it would be renamed in 1926. There was rather a plethora of "Centres" back in the day — this from the 1912 City Directory ...
