This odd little building at the west end of Ballantyne Park looks to have been purpose built as a garage. Cinder-block construction — Hayley's?
The earliest newspaper mentions date to 1947, one George Griffith offering his auto repair services. By 1949 the business was called Hawthorne Motors, and for as long as I can remember it was Redshaw Auto Care ("Specializing in Imports and Economy Cars.") The building was taken over by Cyco's ("We're Crazy About Sports") in the spring of 2022.
