Built c. 1900 as a double, 46-48. #46 was first occupied by the Rideau Canal Lockmaster, Nicholas W. Clarke — see clipping, Ottawa Citizen, 1907-07-19.
Now multiply divided, the original #46 was on the east (viewer's left) side of the building.
