Built between 1901 and 1908 per the City Directories, listing from the latter year. James Taggart was a gardener working for the Experimental Farm. The house stood on an unusually generous lot, likely a double or triple. Goad 1912 (sheet 160) shows a wooden 1½-storey house. There seems to be a poured concrete foundation — original?
