Built some time between 1901 and 1908 per the City Directories, the house was first occupied by one Joseph Lamoureux.
Lamoureux as he is listed in the 1908 Might Directory — while he lived in the Glebe, we note the preponderance of French Canadians with addresses in Lower Town. The scan has captured some unusually clean typesetting artifacts, as on "Wks" in Joseph's entry as well as on "Phydime" — a lovely name now seldom encountered.
