Main and Hawthorn, NW corner, Old Ottawa East

 One of those lovely interbellum cottagey tile-roof gas-stations, sited on the SE corner of the old Ballantyne homestead. built no later than 1928 per the aerial photos. It's listed in the 1932 Directory thus —

— where Sun Oil Co is what we would now call Sunoco (do they still exist? no idea.) I took this photo late last summer, afraid to see what the corner looks like now. Note that "CNR crossing" is now the Queensway.
