The City Directories suggest that Hazel, at the north end of the Spenceville subdivision, was not built upon until c. 1908. The 1909 Directory lists #6 thus, giving Frederick Schelleter (a cook) as the head of household. The name is German. Ernest and Harry were Frederick's sons.

Goad 1912 indicates a 2½-storey BV and makes note of the gambrel roofline.
