The address first appears in the 1915 City Directory, listed as "vacant," then as occupied by Inez W. (Whelen) Shepard the following year. Given that there is no Mr. or Mrs. Shepard (of that spelling) in the '15 Directory, the clipping from the Ottawa Journal, February 2 1916 may be relevant.
